Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Culture, Community and Youth and Mayor of the Central Singapore District Mr Sam Tan visited Vienna, Austria, from 22 to 24 March 2013. Mr Tan was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his visit to Vienna, Mr Tan met with Vice-Minister at the Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth Mrs Bernadette Gierlinger, as well as State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Mr Reinhold Lopatka. They discussed regional developments and how to further enhance relations between Singapore and Austria, particularly in the areas of trade, education, tourism, arts and culture. At the invitation of Vice-Mayor of Vienna Mrs Renate Brauner, Mr Tan attended a performance of Beethoven's Fidelio.
