Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President of the Republic of Indonesia His Excellency Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had their Leaders’ Retreat in Singapore today. They welcomed the good progress in bilateral relations since their Retreat in Bogor, Indonesia, in March 2012 and reiterated their commitment to strengthen and deepen ties between the two countries. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments. A joint press statement issued by the Leaders will follow.
Earlier today, President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Mrs Tan hosted President Yudhoyono and First Lady Ibu Ani to lunch. President Tan and President Yudhoyono discussed developments in Singapore and Indonesia, as well as in the region. President Tan, in his capacity as Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Chancellor, also conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters from NTU on President Yudhoyono.
Prime Minister and Mrs Lee will host President Yudhoyono, Ibu Ani and the Indonesian delegation to dinner this evening.
