In Abuja, SMS called on The Honourable Minister of State of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria Professor Viola Adaku Onwuliri on 14 May 2013. The leaders reaffirmed the growing bilateral ties between Singapore and Nigeria, as well as mutual support in the international fora. SMS also reiterated Singapore’s commitment to extending technical assistance to developing countries like Nigeria, and welcomed Nigeria's continued participation in the Singapore Cooperation Programme.
SMS also met with The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, The Honourable Minister of Aviation Princess Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, and The Honourable Minister of State of Finance Yerima Lawan Ngama. In addition, SMS met with prominent businessmen, bankers, and Singaporeans working in Lagos, to understand and explore the economic opportunities in Nigeria.
