Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Bruno Archi is in Singapore from23 to 25 July 2013 for a working visit. He is accompanied by officials from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a business delegation.
On 24 July 2013, Mr Archi called on Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Lim Hng Kiang, and Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Ms Grace Fu. He was also hosted to lunch by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Culture, Community and Youth Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong. The leaders discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economics, tourism and cultural exchanges. Mr Archi assured our leaders of Italy’s strong support for the smooth approval and ratification of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA), which will inject a new boost to the trade and investment flows between Singapore, Italy and the EU.
Mr Archi also met Deputy Chief Executive of SPRING Singapore Mr Ted Tan this afternoon. Mr Archi and Mr Tan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Singapore and Italy on cooperation between Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
