MFA Press Statement: Passing of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives Dr Abdul Samad Abdullah on 25 August 2013

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to express its profound sadness on the passing of the Foreign Minister of Maldives, Dr Abdul Samad Abdullah, early this morning at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. Dr Samad was 67.

The Ministry also extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the Government of Maldives, and is working closely with the High Commission of Maldives on the necessary arrangements.
