MFA Press Statement: Visit of Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean to the People's Republic of China, 1 to 3 September 2013

            Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean will visit the People’s Republic of China from 1 to 3 September 2013.

            DPM will visit Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, from 1 to 2 September.  DPM will meet Guangdong Party Secretary Hu Chunhua and Guangdong Governor Zhu Xiaodan, and be hosted to dinner by Guangzhou Party Secretary Wan Qingliang.  DPM will also visit the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City. 

            From 2 to 3 September, DPM will lead the Singapore delegation for the 10^th China-ASEAN Exposition (CAEXPO) in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.  The theme of the 10^th CAEXPO is “Regional Cooperation and Development: New Opportunities, New Driving Forces and New Stages”.  DPM will deliver a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 10^th CAEXPO on 3 September. 

            DPM will meet Premier Li Keqiang, Guangxi Party Secretary Peng Qinghua and Yunnan Governor Li Jiheng on the sidelines of the 10^th CAEXPO. 

            DPM will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
