MFA Press Statement: Visit by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister For Law K Shanmugam to Perth, Australia, 1 to 2 November 2013

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will attend the 13th Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Council of Ministers Meeting in Perth, Australia, from 1 to 2 November 2013.

Singapore is a founding member of the IORA, which was established in 1997 to promote economic cooperation and intra-regional trade among Indian Ocean littoral and island states.

Minister Shanmugam will hold talks with some of his foreign counterparts attending the IORA meeting. He will also call on the Premier of Western Australia, Colin Barnett, and meet with Singaporeans based in Perth.

Minister Shanmugam will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
