MFA Press Statement: Visit of His Excellency Vu Van Ninh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam 5 to 8 November 2013

Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vu Van Ninh will visit Singapore at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam under the S R Nathan Fellowship from 5 to 8 November 2013.

The S R Nathan Fellowship is a high-level programme through which foreign leaders, prominent personalities and opinion-shapers are invited to Singapore to exchange ideas and experiences on current and long-term challenges with Singapore leaders and senior government officials. The Fellowship was launched by Minister Shanmugam and former President S R Nathan in November 2012.

During his visit, DPM Ninh will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and be hosted to meals by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan. DPM Ninh will also meet with Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minster for Environment and Water Resources, and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Grace Fu, and Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Home Affairs, and Second Minister for Trade and Industry S Iswaran. He will also receive briefings by the Ministry of Finance, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Casino Regulatory Authority, and Temasek Holdings.

DPM Ninh will be accompanied by Deputy Ministers from the Office of the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, the Chairman of the National Financial Supervisory Commission, and other senior Vietnamese officials.
