On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Singapore, I convey my deepest condolences to you, your Government and the people of Israel on the passing of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
Mr Sharon was a respected leader who dedicated his life to the security and well-being of Israel and its people. He embodied courage and resourcefulness, and served his country with honour and distinction. His passing is a great loss to Israel.
Singapore and Israel enjoy a longstanding friendship. Our ties have been strengthened over time by the efforts of leaders like Mr Sharon. Our thoughts are with you and the people of Israel during your time of sorrow.
