MFA Press Statement: Official visit of Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Grace Fu to the People's Republic of China, 23 to 26 March 2014


Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Grace Fu will visit Beijing and Tianjin, China, from 23 to 26 March 2014 at the invitation of National People’s Congress Vice Chairperson and All China Women’s Federation (ACWF) President Shen Yueyue.

In Beijing, Minister Fu will call on President Shen, and be hosted to a meal by ACWF Vice President Song Xiuyan.  She will also meet National People’s Congress Foreign Affairs Committee Chairperson Fu Ying, Party Secretary and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Governance (CAG) Chen Baosheng, Communist Party of China International Department Vice Minister Chen Fengxiang, and other senior Chinese officials.  Minister Fu will visit the CAG to share experiences on governance issues with CAG faculty and students.  Minister Fu will attend a Ministerial Dialogue with Singaporeans based in Beijing.  

Minister Fu will meet Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo during her visit to Tianjin.  Minister Fu will also visit the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City (TEC) for an update on the developments there.  The TEC is the second Government-to-Government project between Singapore and China.

Minister Fu will be accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development Low Yen Ling and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development.
