MFA Press Statement: Official Visit of Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Secretary of the Communist Party of China Guangdong Provincial Committee Hu Chunhua (20 to 22 April 2014)

            Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee Hu Chunhua will visit Singapore from 20 to 22 April 2014 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean.

 

           During his visit, Secretary Hu will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and have separate meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Teo and Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council Co-Chairman and Minister for Transport Lui Tuck Yew.  Deputy Prime Minister Teo, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing will host separate meals for Secretary Hu. 

 

            Secretary Hu will attend the Singapore-Guangdong Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference with Minister Lui.  He will be given updates on Singapore’s economic transformation and urban planning policies.  He will also visit Buona Vista Community Club and One North to understand Singapore’s experiences in community engagement and creating a knowledge-based economy respectively.
