MFA Press Statement: Visit of the Right Honourable Helen Clark, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), 1 to 3 June 2014

 

        Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), The Right Honourable Helen Clark, will visit Singapore from 1 to 3 June 2014 at the invitation of Minister for National Development Mr Khaw Boon Wan and Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to speak at the Opening Plenary of the 2014 World Cities Summit. The theme for the 2014 World Cities Summit is “Liveable and Sustainable – Common Challenges, Shared Solutions”. The Summit will look at the state of urban challenges today and identify principles of shared solutions applicable to cities spanning the range of development, socio-economic and political contexts. 

 

        Ms Clark's programme will include meetings with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam; Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong; and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam.  She will also deliver a public lecture on the topic of “Women, Excellence and the Public Service” at the UNDP Global Centre for Public Service Excellence.
