Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will make an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 11 to 14 June 2014 at the invitation of PRC Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Besides Beijing, Minister Shanmugam will visit Suzhou and Shanghai.
In Beijing, Minister Shanmugam will meet and be hosted to lunch by Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Minister Shanmugam will also meet with Vice President Li Yuanchao, State Councillor Yang Jiechi, Supreme People’s Court President Zhou Qiang, Procurator-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate Cao Jianming as well as CPC International Department (CPC ID) Minister and Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Wang Jiarui.
In Suzhou, Minister Shanmugam will be hosted to a meal by Suzhou Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Jiang Hongkun. Minister Shanmugam will also be visiting the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park, which marks its 20th anniversary this year.
