Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit the Republic of Kenya and the United Republic of Tanzania from 3 to 9 June 2014. SMS Masagos will meet several political leaders and senior government officials from the aviation, port and energy sectors in both countries to discuss ways to expand Singapore’s cooperation as well as on developments in Sub-Saharan Africa. SMS Masagos will be accompanied by a business delegation which is exploring trade and investment opportunities in Kenya and Tanzania, the two largest economies in the East African Community. The delegation comprises representatives from 17 Singaporean companies, such as Hyflux, PSA, ST Electronics and Pacific International Lines.
In addition, SMS Masagos will deliver keynote addresses at two separate business seminars organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) in Nairobi and Dar Es Salaam, as well as meet Singaporeans who are based in both cities. He will also witness the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding between SBF and the Kenyan Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), and between Vector Scorecard Asia-Pacific (Pte Ltd), a Singapore company that provides business solutions and consultancy services, and KEPSA on 4 June 2014 in Nairobi.
SMS Masagos will be accompanied by Singapore’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to Kenya Yatiman Yusof and MFA officials.
