Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli and his spouse Madam Jumelah Ja’afar will visit Brunei Darussalam from 29 July to 2 August 2014 in conjunction with Hari Raya. SMS Masagos will be accompanied by Minister of State for National Development and Defence Dr Maliki Osman and his spouse Madam Sadiah Shahal, and by Minister of State for Education and Communications & Information Ms Sim Ann and her spouse Dr Mok Ying Jang. Senior Singapore leaders have joined in the Hari Raya celebrations in Brunei since 2012. These visits reflect the abiding friendship and warm relations between Singapore and Brunei.
SMS Masagos and the delegation will visit the Istana Nurul Iman to personally convey the Hari Raya wishes of Singapore’s leaders to the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, and the Raja Isteri, Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.
SMS Masagos and the Singapore delegation will attend a Hari Raya Open House hosted by Brunei Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Badaruddin Othman, and celebrations hosted by several other Bruneian Ministers. In conjunction with Singapore’s National Day, SMS Masagos and the delegation will be meeting with the Singaporean community in Brunei at a National Day Get-Together on 1 August 2014, and will further welcome Bruneian leaders, officials and leading private sector figures to an Open House organised by the Singapore High Commission on 2 August 2014.
