MFA Press Statement: Visit of DPM Teo Chee Hean to the Republic of Turkey, 28 to 29 August 2014

Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean will visit Ankara, Republic of Turkey, from 28 to 29 August 2014. DPM Teo will be attending the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on behalf of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Mr Erdoğan, who as Prime Minister made an official visit to Singapore in January 2014, is the first directly-elected President of the Republic of Turkey. During the visit, DPM Teo will meet Turkish leaders including DPM Ali Babacan and Minister of Interior Efkan Ala.

DPM Teo will be accompanied by Singapore’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey S Chandra Das, as well as officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
