In response to media queries on the shootings in Canada, the MFA spokesman said:
“Singapore condemns the shootings that took place at the National War Memorial and at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased soldier, the injured victims, as well as the Government and people of Canada during this difficult time. The attacks underscore the need for countries to remain vigilant in dealing with the threat posed by terrorists. Singapore stands in solidarity with the Canadian Government in the fight against terrorism.”
