Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Home Affairs and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit Negara Brunei Darussalam from 17 – 18 April 2015 to attend the opening ceremony of the “Workshop on the Art of Writing and Conversing in Islamic Literature”. This Workshop has been specially organised by the Language and Literature Bureau of Brunei (DBP) for religious scholars and teachers from the Malay Language Council of Singapore. This latest collaboration in the area of Malay Language and Literature is reflective of the longstanding close bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Brunei.
While in Brunei Darussalam, Minister Masagos will have an audience with the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah. In addition, Minister Masagos will have meetings with the State Mufti, Pehin Abdul Aziz bin Juned, and Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Hazair bin Haji Abdullah. Minister Masagos will also co-launch with Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Pehin Yahya bin Haji Bakar, a new book, “Rainforest Plants and Flowers of Brunei Darussalam.” This book is a joint collaboration between the Forestry Department of Brunei Darussalam and the Singapore Botanical Gardens.
