In response to further media queries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Spokesman said:
“As of 1800 hours today, all Singaporeans in Nepal who had registered with the Ministry are accounted for and are safe.
Before the earthquake on 25 April 2015, 58 Singaporeans in Nepal had registered via MFA’s eRegister. The number escalated to over 220 Singaporeans after
the earthquake. Through the assistance of our Crisis Response Team at the Kathmandu International Airport, more than 100 have returned to Singapore over the past few days on the RSAF and commercial flights. MFA will continue to facilitate other Singaporeans who wish to leave Nepal.
The Ministry would like to take this opportunity to encourage Singaporeans travelling overseas to eRegister so that we can contact them or their Next-of-Kin promptly in a crisis.
Singaporeans who require consular assistance or advice can contact MFA’s 24-hour hotline at +65-6379-8800/8855 or mfa_duty_officer@mfa.gov.sg.”
