MFA Press Statement: Visit of Mohammad Taisir Masadeh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan, under the Middle East Eminent Persons Programme, 10 to 13 May 2015

                Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli hosted breakfast for His Excellency Mohammad Taisir Masadeh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan, on 12 May 2015.  Masadeh is visiting Singapore from 10 to 13 May 2015 under the Middle East Eminent Persons Programme (MEEPP).  Minister Masagos reaffirmed the warm bilateral relations between Jordan and Singapore.  Recalling his visit to Jordan in October 2014, Minister Masagos expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Jordanian Government to Singaporeans studying in Jordan.  Separately, Secretary-General Masadeh was hosted to lunch by Second Permanent Secretary (Foreign Affairs) Albert Chua where they had a useful exchange of views on regional developments.  

               During his visit, Secretary-General Masadeh delivered a talk on Jordan’s foreign policy at the Middle East Institute of the National University of Singapore.  He also visited the Civil Service College, which has collaboration with Jordan in the training of public administration officials, and will meet the CEO of MUIS Abdul Razak Maricar tomorrow. 

               The MEEPP aims to bring distinguished personalities from the Middle East to Singapore to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.  Organised by MFA, we have received 18 visitors under this programme since its launch in 2007.
