Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received a call by Minister-President of the state of Hesse and President of the Federal Council of Germany Volker Bouffier at the Istana today. PM Lee and Minister-President Bouffier discussed international and regional developments. PM Lee welcomed Hesse’s efforts to strengthen ties with Singapore, and updated Minister-President Bouffier on developments in Singapore and the region.
Earlier today, Minister-President Bouffier had meetings with Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Home Affairs and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli. Yesterday, Minister-President Bouffier met Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister for Education Heng Swee Keat. He also met Members of Parliament Lee Bee Wah, Yee Jenn Jong and Rita Soh, from the Singapore-Europe Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Minister-President Bouffier is on a visit to Singapore to strengthen ties between Hesse and Singapore.
