President Tony Tan received a courtesy call by a group of Coldstream Guardsmen at the Istana on 17 June 2015. The Guardsmen were accompanied by the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Singapore Mr Scott Wightman.

Sergeant Major Brad Sutherland presented President Tan with a commemorative book of President’s State Visit to the United Kingdom in October 2014. President Tan in turn presented Sergeant Major Sutherland with a SG50 commemorative book gift to be conveyed to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. President Tan welcomed the visit of the Guardsmen as a way of strengthening people-to-people exchanges between Singapore and the United Kingdom. President Tan underscored that bilateral ties between the two countries are excellent, noting that we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our relationship this year.

The Coldstream Guardsmen are in Singapore to participate in the festivities for the Queen’s Birthday celebrations, organised by the British High Commission.  While here, they visited several social welfare organisations and schools, and will also visit the Kranji War Cemetery.
