MFA Press Statement: Presentation of Credentials of Singapore's Ambassador to the Portuguese Republic, 15 Sep

The Government has appointed Mr Zainal Arif Mantaha as Singapore’s next Ambassador to the Portuguese Republic, resident in Paris. He is concurrently Singapore’s Ambassador to France. Mr Mantaha will present his credentials to His Excellency Aníbal Cavaco Silva, President of the Portuguese Republic on 15 September 2015.

Mr Mantaha joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991 and served as Director-General (Europe) from January 2011 to July 2012 and from November 2014 to June 2015. He also served as Deputy High Commissioner in London from June 2006 to September 2010.

Mr Mantaha graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 1989 and an International Diploma in Public Administration (Honours) from the École Nationale d’Administration of Strasbourg, France in 2014.

Mr Mantaha is married to Ms Jennifer Cheng.
