Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong met the President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, this afternoon at the Istana.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Lee and President Khama reaffirmed the warm relations between Singapore and Botswana, and discussed ways to step up bilateral and economic links between both countries. President Khama acknowledged the close cooperation between the Singapore Civil Service College and the Botswana Public Service College in the training of Botswana’s senior civil servants. Prime Minister Lee and President Khama also had a fruitful discussion on developments in southern Africa.
President Khama was on transit in Singapore, enroute to Botswana after a State Visit to Seoul.
