Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong will visit Guangzhou, the provincial capital of Guangdong Province from 29 to 31 October 2015. He will deliver a Keynote Speech on “The Development of a Maritime Silk Road for a Peaceful and Prosperous Asian Community” at the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Expo Forum, at the invitation of the Guangdong Provincial Government. ESM will meet Guangdong Party Secretary Hu Chunhua and Guangzhou Party Secretary Ren Xuefeng. He will also visit the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.
ESM will visit Beijing from 31 October to 3 November 2015. He will attend the 2nd “Understanding China” Conference from 1- 3 November, at the invitation of the Berggruen Institute, the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. The Conference will discuss key developments in China, as well as regional and international developments. Conference participants will have a roundtable meeting with President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping. ESM will also meet other PRC political leaders while in Beijing.
ESM will visit Seoul from 3 to 5 November 2015 to attend the 10th Global HR Forum, which is jointly organised by the Korea Economic Daily, the Republic of Korea (ROK) Ministry of Education, and the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training. ESM will deliver a Keynote Speech at the Forum. ESM will also meet ROK political leaders while in Seoul.
ESM will be accompanied by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
