MFA Press Statement: Meeting between Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France Mr Laurent Fabius in Paris, France, 10 November 2015

    During a visit to Paris to attend the informal ministerial meeting on climate change (pre-COP 21), Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan was officially received by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France Mr Laurent Fabius.  While the two ministers work closely in the context of the preparations for the COP21 meeting, this was their first meeting since Dr Balakrishnan became Minister for Foreign Affairs. 

     The two ministers noted that 2015 marked the 50^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.  They expressed satisfaction with the state of bilateral relations and agreed to continue to work closely together to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across different sectors, including the economic sector.  They also exchanged views on regional developments and global issues.
