MFA Press Statement: 18th Singapore-Kagoshima Conference on 19 January 2016

The 18^th Singapore-Kagoshima Conference was held on 19 January 2016 in Singapore. Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport Mrs Josephine Teo led the Singapore delegation, while the Kagoshima delegation was led by Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture His Excellency Yuichiro Ito. Started in 1982, the Conference’s objective is to advance cooperation between Singapore and Kagoshima Prefecture across a wide range of areas, including trade, tourism, arts and culture, youth, and sports. Both sides agreed to continue furthering our cooperation on the occasion of the 50^th anniversary of Singapore-Japan diplomatic relations in 2016.
