MFA Spokesman's Comments in response to media queries on the car bomb attack in the Turkish capital of Ankara on 17 February 2016

                   

                  In response to media queries on the car bomb attack in the Turkish capital of Ankara last night, the MFA Spokesman said:

                  

                   “MFA strongly condemns the car bomb attack in central Ankara which has resulted in the loss of many lives with dozens more injured.  We extend our condolences to the bereaved families and wish those injured a speedy recovery.

 

                   Our Embassy in Ankara has contacted and ascertained the safety of all registered Singaporeans in Ankara.  Thus far, there are no reports of any Singaporeans who are directly affected by the attack.  Our Embassy is in close contact with the Turkish authorities and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
