MFA Press Statement: Condolence Letters from Singapore Leaders on the flydubai Flight FZ981 Crash in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, on 19 March 2016

                President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to Russian President, His Excellency Vladimir Putin, and Russian Prime Minister, His Excellency Dmitry Medvedev, respectively to offer their condolences over the crash of flydubai flight FZ981 in the city of Rostov-on-Don on 19 March 2016.  President Tan and Prime Minister Lee have also conveyed their condolences to Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

                I was saddened to learn about the crash of flydubai flight FZ981 in Rostov-on-Don on 19 March 2016.  On behalf of the people of Singapore, I extend our condolences to you and the people of the Russian Federation over the tragic loss of all passengers and crew on board. 

                Our thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones so suddenly.  I wish them strength and resolve to carry on through this difficult time of grief.
