Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr Mohammad Javad Zarif is in Singapore from 7 to 9 March 2016 at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. This visit is part of Minister Zarif’s regional tour of Southeast Asia. He will be accompanied by senior Iranian Foreign Ministry officials.
While in Singapore, Minister Zarif will meet and be hosted to dinner by Minister Balakrishnan. In addition, he will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob. Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will also host lunch for Minister Zarif. Minister Zarif will also deliver a lecture under the Middle East Institute’s Prominent Speaker Series.
