MFA Press Statement: Visit of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to Australia, 3-4 March 2016

                   Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will make his introductory visit to Australia from 3 to 4 March 2016.

 

                   Minister Balakrishnan will have meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop, Minister for the Environment Greg Hunt, Minister for Trade and Investment Steven Ciobo, Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science Christopher Pyne, Special Envoy for Trade Andrew Robb as well as Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development Tanya Plibersek and other Australian personalities.

 

                   Minister Balakrishnan’s visit will reaffirm the close and substantive relationship between Singapore and Australia.  During his meetings, he will discuss various issues of mutual interest including the Singapore-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). Signed in June 2015, the CSP aims to strengthen bilateral relations in various sectors, including economics, defence and security, foreign affairs, and people-to-people ties.

 

                   Minister Balakrishnan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
