Letter from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım
23 May 2016
Dear Prime Minister Yıldırım,
On behalf of the Government and people of Singapore, I warmly congratulate you on your appointment as Prime Minister of Turkey.
Singapore and Turkey enjoy a warm and substantial relationship underpinned by cooperation in trade, aviation, education and culture. The Joint Declaration on a Strategic Partnership, which was signed in October 2014, will further enhance bilateral ties to benefit our people. The Turkey-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (TRSFTA), when ratified, will also boost bilateral cooperation and strengthen Singapore’s and Turkey’s positions as gateways to our respective regions.
I look forward to working closely with you to deepen our bilateral relations and advance our partnership across many areas of mutual interest. I would also like to invite you to visit Singapore when your schedule permits.
I wish you every success in your new appointment.
With warmest regards.
Yours sincerely
LEE HSIEN LOONG
His Excellency Binali Yıldırım
Prime Minister
Republic of Turkey
