MFA Press Statement: Visit of the President of the Republic of Madagascar Hery Rajaonarimampianina to Singapore, 17 to 19 May 2016

The President of the Republic of Madagascar, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, is visiting Singapore from 17 to 19 May 2016 to participate in the Madagascar-Singapore Business Forum, organised by the Singapore Business Federation. In conjunction with his visit, President Rajaonarimampianina met Acting Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean this afternoon at the Istana.

During their meeting, Acting Prime Minister Teo and President Rajaonarimampianina reaffirmed the warm relations between Singapore and Madagascar, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Acting Prime Minister Teo and President Rajaonarimampianina discussed developments in Madagascar and the interest of Madagascar companies to use Singapore as a gateway into Asia.

President Rajaonarimampianina will call on President Tony Tan Keng Yam tomorrow, 18 May 2016.
