                President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to President of the French Republic François Hollande and Prime Minister of the French Republic Manuel Valls respectively to convey their condolences on the terror attack in Nice, France on 14 July 2016.

Your Excellency,

 

                On behalf of the people of Singapore, I extend my sincere condolences to you and the people of France for the brutal terrorist attack in Nice on 14 July 2016, the National Day of the French Republic.  We are profoundly saddened by the loss of lives and our deepest sympathies go to the families of the victims. We wish the injured a speedy recovery.

                Singapore strongly condemns any acts of terror.  The attacks on innocent lives are senseless and unjustifiable.

                Singapore stands with France during this difficult time.

Letter from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Prime Minister of the French Republic Manuel Valls

Dear Prime Minister Valls,

 

                I am shocked to learn of the terrorist attack in Nice during the 14 July 2016 celebrations that has claimed so many innocent lives and left many more injured.  Singapore strongly condemns this senseless violence and stands in solidarity with France.  On behalf of the Singapore Government, I would like to convey our condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims.  Our thoughts are with France and her people during this time of grief.
