MFA Press Statement: S R Nathan Fellowship Visit of Won Hee-ryong, Governor of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Republic of Korea

                Governor of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Won Hee-ryong will visit Singapore at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan under the S R Nathan Fellowship from 11 to 14 July 2016, in conjunction with his attendance and speaking engagement at the World Cities Summit 2016. 

                During his visit, Governor Won will meet Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, and be hosted to dinner by Minister Balakrishnan.  Governor Won will also receive briefings by the Housing and Development Board, the Ministry of Education and the Centre for Strategic Futures.

                The S R Nathan Fellowship is a high-level visit programme through which foreign leaders, prominent personalities and opinion-shapers are invited to Singapore to exchange ideas and experiences on current and long term challenges with Singapore leaders and senior government officials.  The Fellowship was launched by former President S R Nathan and then-Minister for Foreign Affairs K Shanmugam in November 2012.
