Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman will visit Brunei Darussalam from 7 to 10 July 2016 for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. SMS Maliki will be accompanied by his spouse Madam Sadiah Shahal, Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Community and Youth Mr Baey Yam Keng and his spouse Madam Lim Hai Yen, Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs Mr Amrin Amin, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is the fourth year in a row that SMS Maliki will participate in Brunei’s Hari Raya celebrations. The visit reaffirms the excellent and longstanding special relationship between both countries.
The Singapore delegation will visit the Istana Nurul Iman on 7 July to personally convey the Hari Raya wishes of Singapore’s leaders to the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Raja Isteri Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, and other members of the Royal Family.
The Singapore delegation will also attend the Hari Raya Open Houses of various Bruneian Ministers, Deputy Ministers and senior officials. SMS Maliki will be the Guest of Honour at a Hari Raya Open House organised by the Singapore High Commission in Brunei on 10 July. Senior Bruneian leaders and officials in Brunei will be invited to the Open House. SMS Maliki will also visit the Jalan Aman Camp in Brunei on 9 July to meet the Singapore Armed Forces personnel based there.
