MFA Press Statement: Condolence Letters from Singapore’s Leaders on the Earthquake in Central Italy

              

                President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister of the Italian Republic Matteo Renzi, respectively, to offer their condolences over the earthquake in central Italy.

Your Excellency,

               I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and widespread destruction caused by the earthquake in central Italy on 24 August 2016.  

               On behalf of the people of Singapore, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the families of those who perished in the disaster.  I wish for the speedy recovery of those who were injured. 

               Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Italy during this difficult period.
