MYRAT MAMMETALYYEV ORAZMAMMEDOWICH
AMBASSADOR OF TURKMENISTAN TO SINGAPORE
Mr Mammetalyyev was appointed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Singapore (resident in Seoul) in June 2016. Mr Myrat Mammetalyyev is also the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea since 2014. Mr Mammetalyyev was trained in automated production management in the Polytechnic Institute of Turkmenistan. From 1997 – 2008, he was Head of the Turkmen National Institute of Democracy and Human Rights. In 2008, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where he has served as Head of the Departments of European Countries and International Information until his appointment as Ambassador to the Republic of Korea in 2014 Mr Mammetalyyev’s interests includes high technologies, archeology, history and world literature. He speaks Russian and English. Mr Mammetalyyev was awarded the “Magtymguly Pyragy” and the “Independent, Permanent Neutral Turkmenistan” medals by the government of Turkmenistan.
Mr Mammetalyyev is married and has 2 children.

NANCY LYNN MCDONALD HIGH COMMISSIONER OF CANADA TO SINGAPORE

Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Ms. McDonald is a graduate of the United World College of the Atlantic in the United Kingdom (IB, 1987) as well as of the University of Toronto’s Trinity College (BA High Distinction, International Relations & Economics, 1991) and Faculty of Law (LLB, 1994). She was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1995 and joined Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in 1996.
During her time in Ottawa, Ms. McDonald worked in the Legal Bureau, the Trade Law Bureau, and the Trade Policy Bureau of DFAIT. In her most recent assignment at DFAIT headquarters, she served as the Director of the Intellectual Property Trade Policy Division (TMI) where she oversaw the negotiation of the intellectual property provisions of Canada's bilateral and multilateral trade agreements (2011-2014). Her positions overseas have included as legal advisor at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland (1999-2002) and Counsellor and Head of the trade policy section at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C. (2005-2009). Her most recent assignment abroad was as Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao (2014-2016).
Ms. McDonald is married and has two children.
