                Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) & Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean visited Putrajaya, Malaysia from 15 to 16 August 2016.

                DPM Teo called on Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Razak.  During the meeting, they reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations and good cooperation between Singapore and Malaysia on a wide range of issues.  This included the Memorandum of Understanding on the Singapore-Malaysia High-Speed Rail which signalled the two governments' commitment on a long-term bilateral project. 

                In addition, DPM Teo met his counterpart DPM and Minister of Home Affairs Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, including regional security and strengthening bilateral counter-terrorism cooperation.  DPM Teo also met several other Malaysian leaders including Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Minister of Rural and Regional Development Dato’ Sri Dr. Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dato’ Seri Shahidan Kassim, and Minister of Transport Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai.  DPM Teo also had meals with Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dato’ Razali bin Haji Ibrahim, and members of the Malaysian business community.

                At the sidelines of the International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy: “Transforming Nations through Creativity and Innovation”, DPM Teo also met Palestinian National Authority Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Riyad Al-Maliki.  DPM Teo returns to Singapore today.
