Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan who is in New York for the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), attended the Opening of the General Debate. Minister Balakrishnan also had separate bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Kenya, Oman, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Liberia, the Maldives, and Madagascar on the sidelines of the UNGA. In his various meetings, Minister Balakrishnan reaffirmed the good bilateral relations with the different countries and also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation by promoting trade, investments, and by working together at the UN to advance the interests of small states.
