Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will make a working visit to Washington D.C. from 21 to 23 September 2016, following which DPM Teo will attend Singapore Day in San Francisco on 24 September 2016.
In Washington D.C., DPM Teo will meet senior Administration officials, key members of the United States Congress and prominent strategic thinkers. DPM Teo’s visit will reaffirm Singapore’s close and longstanding bilateral partnership with the United States, including in security cooperation and tackling common challenges.
In San Francisco, DPM Teo will meet overseas Singaporeans and launch the Action Community for Entrepreneurship Silicon Valley Chapter, a partnership with the Bay Area Tech Singaporeans to support Singapore-based tech start-ups venturing into the US market.
DPM Teo will be accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary (Home Affairs) Amrin Amin, Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairperson of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Home Affairs and Law Edwin Tong and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and National Security Coordination Secretariat in Washington D.C., and by Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport Josephine Teo, Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairperson of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Home Affairs and Law Edwin Tong and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office in San Francisco.
