Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan was hosted to breakfast by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Ankara, Turkey today.
The Ministers reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to further expand our growing ties. They also discussed areas to further develop economic and civil aviation cooperation and business links. Both Ministers looked forward to the ratification of the Turkey-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, which would create more trade and investment opportunities and boost bilateral ties. They agreed to increase efforts to broaden bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of security, third country training, education and cultural cooperation. The Ministers had a good discussion on regional and international developments. Minister Balakrishnan invited Minister Çavuşoğlu to Singapore in the near future.
Minister Balakrishnan is in Turkey from 5 to 6 October 2016 for his introductory visit. After Ankara, he will visit Antalya where he will meet with Mayor of Antalya Menderes Türel and be hosted to dinner by Governor of Antalya Münir Karoloğlu.
