His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam, is in Singapore for a six-day official visit from 27 November 2016 to 2 December 2016 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean. His Royal Highness is visiting Singapore for the 4th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP). The YLP is a key bilateral platform launched in 2013 to strengthen the close ties between younger leaders from Brunei and Singapore. Singapore and Brunei take turns to host the YLP every year.
His Royal Highness will be accompanied by Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, and their children, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Muntaqim, Her Royal Highness Princess Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad Aiman. Other members of the Brunei delegation include Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Dato Roselan Daud, and senior officials.
During the visit, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will host lunch for His Royal Highness and members of his delegation. A welcome dinner will also be hosted by DPM Teo and Mrs Teo for Their Royal Highnesses.
His Royal Highness will make a visit to the Home Team Tactical Centre, hosted by Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam. Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Second Minister for Defence Ong Ye Kung will also host His Royal Highness to a visit at the SAF’s Armour Simulation Centre at Sungei Gedong Camp. Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran will brief His Royal Highness on the work of the Committee on the Future Economy, and Head of Civil Service and Permanent Secretary (Prime Minister’s Office; Strategy) Peter Ong will also brief His Royal Highness on the role and functions of the Strategy Group at the Prime Minister’s Office.
His Royal Highness’ visit reaffirms the excellent and longstanding ties between Brunei and Singapore, and will further strengthen our deep and multi-faceted cooperation.
