MFA Press Statement: Visit of Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Manpower Sam Tan to Norway from 22 to 25 January 2017

                    Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Manpower Sam Tan will visit Tromsø, Norway to attend the 11^th Arctic Frontiers Conference (AFC) from 22 to 25 January 2017.

                    MOS Tan will deliver remarks at two plenary sessions “The Arctic in a Global Context” and “Arctic Business Opportunities” on 24 January 2017.  On the sidelines of the conference, MOS Tan will meet Norwegian State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marit Berger Røsland, Canadian Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pamela Goldsmith-Jones, and host dinner for representatives of the Arctic Council Permanent Participants.

                    The AFC is an annual international event organised by Norwegian think-tanks and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the discussion of Arctic issues.  This is the third time that Singapore is attending the conference.

                    MOS Tan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
