Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Manpower Sam Tan meeting with Norwegian State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marit Berger Røsland on the sidelines of the 11th Arctic Frontiers Conference, 23 January 2017

 

              Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Manpower Sam Tan, who is visiting Tromsø, Norway for the 11th Arctic Frontiers Conference (AFC) attended the opening of the AFC by Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg on 23 January 2017.

               MOS Tan met Norwegian State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marit Berger Røsland on the sidelines of the AFC.  They reaffirmed the close bilateral ties between the two countries and discussed regional and global developments.  MOS Tan also met the Arctic Council’s Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF) Chair Reidar Hindrum to discuss possible collaborations. Mr Hindrum conveyed his appreciation for Singapore’s support for the recent Arctic Migratory Birds Initiative (AMBI) Workshop in Singapore. In addition, MOS Tan took the opportunity to meet with some Singaporeans who are staying in Tromsø.

              MOS Tan will deliver remarks at two AFC plenary sessions: “The Arctic in a Global Context” and “Arctic Business Opportunities” on 24 January 2017.
