MFA Spokesman’s Comments on the bomb blast in East Jakarta, Indonesia, on 24 May 2017

            Singapore strongly condemns the bomb attack at the Kampung Melayu Bus Terminal in East Jakarta on 24 May 2017 which caused several deaths and injuries, including to members of the Indonesian National Police.  The Government of Singapore stands ready to work with Indonesia to bring those responsible for such reprehensible acts of terror to justice.  We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured a swift recovery.

            Thus far, there are no reports of Singaporeans directly affected or injured in the incident.  The Singapore Embassy is working with the Indonesian authorities to monitor the situation closely.
