Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman will visit Brunei from 26 to 30 June 2017 for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. SMS Maliki will be accompanied by his spouse Madam Sadiah Shahal, as well as Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Social and Family Development and Ministry of Education, Assoc Prof Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim and his spouse Madam Hayati Bte Haron, and Mayor of Northeast CDC Mr Desmond Choo. The visit reflects the close friendship and long-standing special relationship between Singapore and Brunei.
While in Brunei, SMS Maliki will visit the Istana Nurul Iman on 27 June 2017 to personally convey the Hari Raya wishes of Singapore’s leaders to the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Raja Isteri, Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, and other members of the Royal Family.
The Singapore delegation will also visit the Open Houses of Brunei Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and other senior Bruneian personalities. SMS Maliki will be the Guest-of-Honour at a Hari Raya Open House hosted by the Singapore High Commission in Brunei on 29 June 2017 for Bruneian leaders and officials, and the Singapore community in Brunei. SMS Maliki will also visit Singapore Armed Forces personnel training in Brunei during his trip.
