Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Defence & Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman was in Brunei from 26 to 30 June 2017 for the annual Hari Raya visit. SMS Maliki was accompanied by his spouse Madam Sadiah Shahal, as well as Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Social and Family Development Assoc Prof Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim and his spouse Madam Hayati Bte Haron, and Mayor of Northeast CDC Mr Desmond Choo.
SMS and his delegation visited the Istana Nurul Iman on 27 June 2017, and personally conveyed the Hari Raya greetings of Singapore’s leaders to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam; the Raja Isteri, Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha; and other members of the Royal Family. SMS and the delegation also met with Singapore Armed Forces personnel and their families in Brunei and conveyed their Hari Raya wishes.
During the visit, SMS and the delegation attended the Open Houses of Brunei Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and other senior Bruneian personalities. SMS and the delegation were also hosted to breakfast by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Pehin Lim Jock Seng. SMS was also the Guest of Honour at a Hari Raya Open House organised by the Singapore High Commission in Brunei attended by senior Bruneian leaders and officials. This visit reaffirmed the warm and longstanding friendship between the two countries.
