Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship - Visit of Datuk Abdul Farid bin Alias, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Maybank Group, 1 to 3 November 2017

        President and Chief Executive Officer of the Maybank Group Datuk Abdul Farid bin Alias from Malaysia will visit Singapore as the 58th Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow from 1 to 3 November 2017.

        Datuk Farid will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information and Ministry of Education, Dr Janil Puthucheary, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore Ravi Menon, and Ambassador-at-Large Professor Tommy Koh. Datuk Farid will be hosted to separate lunches by Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Maliki Osman, and Ambassador-at-Large Ong Keng Yong. Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship (LKYEF) Chairman Eddie Teo will meet and host a welcome dinner for Datuk Farid.

        Datuk Farid will receive briefings by the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office, Temasek Holdings, and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.

        Datuk Farid is the 6th LKYEF Fellow from Malaysia. These exchanges help to foster dialogue and collaboration between Singapore and Malaysia, and will deepen our bilateral relationship across the public and private sectors.

        Established in 1991, the LKYEF invites outstanding individuals for high-level visits to Singapore. The Fellows are chosen on the basis of their track records and extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations and to bilateral relations with Singapore.
