His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall, who are making an Official Visit to Singapore from 30 October to 2 November 2017, were received at a ceremonial welcome at the Istana today, and called on President Halimah Yacob and Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee. His Royal Highness and President Halimah Yacob reaffirmed the excellent bilateral ties between Singapore and the UK, and discussed the importance of interfaith harmony.
His Royal Highness had a meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. They discussed regional and climate change issues. Her Royal Highness was hosted to tea by Mrs Lee Hsien Loong.
Their Royal Highnesses attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph in the afternoon. His Royal Highness also visited the Harmony Centre for an interfaith dialogue with interfaith leaders and youth representatives from Singapore, hosted by Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs Dr Yaacob Ibrahim. He also took a hike on the TreeTop Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir Park. Her Royal Highness attended a Commonwealth literacy event at Temasek Junior College.
President Halimah Yacob and Mr Mohamed will host an official dinner at the Istana in honour of Their Royal Highnesses this evening.
